The Family Behind Case

Hi, We are the Duhon's. We live in South Louisiana. We have a production sugarcane farm as well as cattle. We are 4th generation farmers but 1st generation sugarcane farmers. We enjoy all aspects of the farm but especially growing our free-range kids on the farm!

Sugarcane

What is sugarcane? Sugarcane is a tall grassy plant that produces Sugar. Sugar is used to make your food sweet! Like in cookies and cake.

We also can't forget our amazing illustrator Christina Brown! Christina's Website

My name is Amanda Duhon

I am a farm wife and mother living in South Louisiana. I have always had a love for agriculture that started when I was young in 4H. From there I moved to Texas I was involved in the FFA. There I realized that I had more than just a love, but a passion for agriculture. Every year we would go to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo to give kids tours, teaching them about agriculture. This was my fondest memory with FFA. I have now work in the Animal Care Industry. I have been loving animals and consoling owners for the past 10 years. I always kept that love of agriculture but never knew how to share it with others. Working with the public and animals every day I realized that is how I would share my love of agriculture. By telling the stories of the dogs that live on the farm. Everyone can relate to a dog, and a dog is a staple on the farm. So who better to tell the story of agriculture than the farm dogs themselves! I hope you follow along as The Farm Dog series grows and continue to learn how your food goes from the field to your table!
